So, where was I?

So as is painfully obvious, I am the worst 'regular' blogger of all time. What started out as a blog that would be updated every day ended up being two posts not even on consecutive days. Truth be told this blog was started out of sheer boredom so it may be assumed that I stopped posting because I haven't been bored. That is absolutely not true, but more on my boredom later. I am now going to make a real conscious effort to update this blog regularly, maybe not every day as I'm unsure whether I will be able to find relevant and interesting subjects to speak about everyday. I would rather keep it interesting and entertaining on an irregular basis rather and monotonous and boring on a regular basis.

Now for an update on where my life has been and where it is headed since January 3rd 2010

As I previously said a very long time ago, a few weeks into January I had my January exams for second year. Luckily all of those went well and I did not have to resit any in the summer. My results ranged from first class to 2.1 which is exactly what I am aiming for. Shortly after this I had to start a 2 week placement with other students who do medical type degrees such as medicine, physiotherapy and things like that. Our placement was in a forensic medical asylum. For obvious reasons I can't say much more apart from that it was awesome and that it is a serious possibility for me to look into working somewhere like that once I finish my degree and qualify. The rest of the academic year was just based around lectures and practicals, the usual stuff. Stress started to hit me hard during the run up to my May exams. It had reached a point where I just could not be bothered about doing any sort of revision for the exams at all and had lost all motivation, lets just say I was near enough burnt out. In order to combat this, I decided the only way to combat this was to provide myself with an incentive to work, something that every time I looked at it, it would remind me that if I sat down and worked then I could have fun afterwards. I therefore bought myself a PS3 and it sat next to my desk up until a week before my last exam and it provided the motivation I needed. On a side note if anyone does own a PS3 please please please obtain a copy of Heavy Rain and play it, it was seriously the best gaming experience I have ever had. Although my results weren't as good as the ones from January I still finished the year on a respectable 65%.

Thats my academic news over now for the social stuff? Unfortunately during the last year of uni I haven't been out enough which is partly due to the amount of work I had and partly due to my boredom with the clubs in Portsmouth and truth be told I have only been out a few times this summer, although for 6 weeks I was on a full time placement at Tesco Pharmacy. One weekend I went up to Manchester for a friends birthday and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this was one of the greatest weekends of my life. I think I was constantly laughing for 24 hours straight. A similarly awesome time was experienced for my 20th birthday last week at Snobs in Birmingham. A great little club that I found out my dad used to go to.

Musically I have had a very good few months. In April I saw Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at Southampton University and up until that put it was the best gig I had been to. Seeing Paul McCartney though at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff in June really was the best night of my life. When he played Hey Jude that truly was the greatest single moment of my life. Also at the end of March I ended up buying a new electric guitar on a whim, it is the beautiful Danelectro '63 which I ended up getting for a bargain. I have also been doing a lot of writing recently and have finally started recording some songs. They vary throughout many styles and hopefully I will get them 'out there' soon. As the name of a project I have been throwing round a few names and the one I've got at the moment is 'Jefferson Hope' which if anyone is wondering is the name of a character from the first Sherlock Holmes novel 'A Study in Scarlet'

Anyway thats all for now, I will back shortly with a more focused blog and not something so introspective
